From 1996-2001 Staci was a Special Education teacher at Emerald High School in Greenwood. There she wrote several EIA teacher grants and was nominee for Sallie Mae First Year Teacher Award in 1997. She coached the Junior Varsity Cheerleading team from 1997-1999. She wrote and implemented two Service Learning projects with Assisted Living Facilities 1998-2000. She also wrote and implemented a School-to-Work curriculum 2000-2001.
Beyond the classroom, Staci has served as a volunteer mentor and assisted in planning and transporting Special Olympics teams to state and local events. She is an active volunteer in the community and in the Learning Ministry programs of Immanuel. Staci’s gifts for organization and planning, her creativity and enthusiasm for teaching have blessed Immanuel’s learning ministries since she became a member of the congregation by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism as a young adult August 11, 1996.
Staci is married to Stephen Gilbert. Staci and Stephen have two children, Benjamin and Caroline. They make their home in Greenwood.
